PENNSYLVANIA: IGAMING REVENUE ON THE RISE

In October 2022, the gambling sector, including iGaming, experienced growth compared to the same month in 2021. According to the recent report by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), the total revenue increased by 5.71% from $425.9 million in October 2021 to $450.2 million in October 2022.

Incorporating all aspects of casino and sports betting in the state, such as table games, sports betting, online gaming, fantasy betting, video slot and poker terminals, and online poker, the report consolidates data from various sectors. Remarkably, the state’s online gaming industry has achieved unprecedented growth, surpassing the previous record set in March 2022 by over $4 million in gross revenue, with October 2022 registering an impressive $151.7 million.

Despite a decline in internet poker over the past year, it is remarkable that a new record was achieved in iGaming. In October 2022, online poker generated $2.5 million in gross revenue, marking a 12.72% decrease compared to the $2.8 million recorded in October 2021.

Despite the decline in poker, online slots experienced a considerable surge, accumulating a staggering $86.3 million in October 2022. This noteworthy figure represents a remarkable growth rate of more than 22% when compared to the $70.7 million generated in October 2021.

Penn National Casino and Hollywood Casino, two of the leading performers, have contributed to an impressive internet revenue of $52.7 million.
